Reunions [Locked to Lancelot]

Guinevere carefully fixed her hair, before throwing down the brush and moving across the room to the door.  Lancelot had returned and she couldn't wait to see him.

She entered the courtyard and looked around expectantly, but he was nowhere to be seen. She smiled and sat down on one of the stone benches.  She knew her love.  He would be there very shortly.

Guinevere smiled slightly. "Tristan and Gawain have been very champion-like whenever they are here and you two are not." She paused. "Come to think of it...anytime you and Arthur are not around, the other Knights are always very protective. Have you two said something to them about my safety?"

She stroked his face and then leaned forward and touched her lips to his softly.

Lancelot let a warm hearted chuckle escape his lips at her question before all breath was taken from him at her gentle kiss and he could do nothing but respond, his hand encircled around to the back of her neck, pulling her that little bit closer, it really had been too long.

Guinevere wrapped an arm around him and settled against him as she kissed him. It had been too long since they had been this close. She pulled back slightly and looked at him. "Welcome home, love," she said softly.

An arm went around her, one hand falling to rest against her waist as the other stroked through her hair," It is good to be home." He affirmed just as softly with a hint of a smile.

She smiled, enjoying the sensation of being close to him again. "So, answer my question...have you and the Knights been charging others with looking out for me when you all are not here?" She ran a hand through his hair. "I know that Arthur's other Knights think well of me, so them looking out for my safety is one thing. But having knights I don't know checking on me...that makes me wonder if you or Arthur have been making requests."

Guinevere looked at him, smiling to show that she wasn't offended by any of this.

Lancelot's eyes glittered as the same mischievious smile spread across his lips," If we have, it is simply because we worry for you, eventhough we know you are more than capable of looking after yourself." His hand went to the side of her face and soon his fingertips traced patterns gently across the skin, the look in her eyes and the smile reassured him, she wasn't offended at the idea of him and Arthur making requests.

She smiled and closed her eyes as she rested in his arms. "I appreciate that the two of you care enough to make requests of others to look out for my safety while you are away." She moved her hand up and down his back slowly. "However, you might want to tell those same knights that do not ride with you that I am safe in the forest and the Woads mean me no harm. Also, the next one of those younglings that raises their sword to my father will find my arrow in his chest." She smiled up at him, opening her eyes.

"I'm not talking about the ones who ride with you and Arthur on a regular basis, They know my family and we are friends. I mean those younglings that you Knights of the Round like to train."

Lancelot had an amused smile on his face before he chuckled softly," I will do that, just as soon as I've spent enough time with you, my lady." He let one hand play over her hair, it felt strange to be back, it wasn't home but it was as close as Lancelot was ever going to get to it.

"Oh, I have no intention of letting you do that any time soon, Lancelot. I happen to plan on keeping you busy for awhile."
