Yes.  Yes, I do.

Guinevere remembers so much...

If she closes her eyes right now, she would still see the day it all began quite clearly. She sees Arthur peering at her through the bars of the cage she is being held in. When he sees that she is alive, she hears him yell for someone. Another, larger knight, appears at his side. At Arthur's command, the knight tears down the gate.

She feels Arthur's arms go around her and he lifts her up and holds her close to him.  She closes her eyes against the glare of the light outside and feels the snow falling gently onto her face. Another knight appears at Arthur's call and she hears him call the other knight "Lancelot". Tears fill her eyes and slip down her cheeks slowly as she listens to the knights' condemnation of the priests who had kept her locked up. Arthur's hands are gentle as he holds the water skin to her lips. As she slowly sips the water, cursing her weakness, she stares into his face and knows that she would follow this man anywhere.

Later she has the chance to watch Arthur...and Lancelot. Over time, as she heals, she banters with Arthur and asks both he and Lancelot questions about themselves. This in turn leads to questions about her. She enjoys talking to both men...as well as spending time with them---when it is just the three of them. However, it isn't until the battle on the ice that she admits that she is deeply in love---with both men.

Both men handle the news surprisingly well and the beginnings of a very firm relationship is underway. The three of them are inseperable when they are able to be---and deadly when they fight together.

No one has ever questioned the relationship the three share---at least not as far as she knows. But then again, Guinevere is reasonably sure that she would never hear about it if someone did have a problem with her and her men. She doubts such a person would make it past the rest of the Knights of the Round Table.

Over time, their love has only gotten stronger and their commitment to each other much deeper. Her heart grows heavy whenever she has to bid them farewell to do their duties. She knows from their own words that they feel the same way whenever they ride away without her. When they ride out, she bids them farewell and then runs up the stairs to the highest part of the castle so she can watch them for a very long time.

Every time they return to her, her heart dances joyously in her chest as they sweep her up and hold her close---glad to be home once again.

Guinevere smiles.

Yes, I absolutely do believe in love at first sight---and I'm still deeply in love.
